Model without detail parts applied.
In 2005
Walther produced a wood side Santa Fe prototype caboose, available as single or
double kits. Matt Zebrowski produced an article in The Warbonnet, 3rd Quarter
2005, on fine tuning the kit.
The model
is of a 1300 class Santa Fe waycar. Zebroski finds two noticeable problems: the
thickness of the end platform step sidewalls and the thick plastic windows. He
remarks about other less significant points. The kit comes with an interior.
The
kit comes with parts that must be added: the platform ends, ladders, chimney,
and numerous grabs. Of course holes must be drilled for the grabs as has become
Walther's custom. the model also needs a little extra weight as it is 2.5 ounces.
Congratulations to Walthers on an important
and quality model.
