The Westbound Yard contained 19 tracks. It generally reblocked and filled trains for Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and California.

Between 1977 and 1990, the Eastbound yard was removed and the Westbound yard became the yard for Emporia.
