Emporia's Depot and office building was built in 1883-4. This building served as the headquarters for the Eastern Division for over 100 years. On April 27, 1986, the Eastern and Kansas City Divisions were consolidated with headquarters in Kansas City, leaving this building. In June, 1990, Emporia was eliminated as a crew change point.
